How to register a Death Certificate where there is no Post-Mortem
Following a death, a registered medical practitioner who attended the deceased must complete and sign the Death Notification Form. This form is usually given to the next-of-kin of the deceased to register the death.

To obtain an Interim Death Certificate when a Post-Mortem has taken place
When there is a post-mortem, it can take sometime for the local Coroner to finalise the cause of death. While waiting for this, you can request an ‘Interim Death Certificate’ from your local Coroner. This certificate states that the death has occurred, but that the cause of death has not been finalised.
